Macau casinos were flooded with tourists over the past week as Chinese visitors celebrated the Lunar New Year Holiday.

Analysts who spent the week visiting the major properties operated by Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS), Wynn Resorts Ltd. (WYNN), and MGM Resorts International (MGM) reported seeing masses of people on the casino floors.

One analyst noted that because of the huge number of customers at the tables the property management raised the table limits.

The high volume of gambling being recorded at the properties is expected to skew the comparisons with last year when the New Year celebration took place in February and not January.
