Phil Ruffin may want The Mirage but a senior member of the MGM Resorts team says they have not had any recent conversations with Ruffin who owns the adjacent Treasure Island.

"I’m sure Phil would like to have The Mirage," he said, "but the truth is I’m not sure he has the money."

Ruffin could not be reached over the weekend for his thoughts on the subject but I will try and catch up with him this week.

In the meantime, Penn National executives do not appear to have retreated from their interest in finding a location convenient to the center-Strip crowds since acquiring control of the M Resort more than 10 miles to the south.
