Aristrocrat’s Outback Jack slot machine September 27, 2011 3:00 AM by

Aristrocrat’s Australian adventure-themed Outback Jack slot has 20 lines with a 10x max bet. It requires an ante bet to trigger one of the six bonuses and has two stand alone progressive.

The bonuses are triggered when three or more of the scattered Australian map symbols appear. Jack races across the screen in his jeep, then a map of Australia appears and Jack forges a trail to one of the six sign posts, each leading to a different bonus.

The Winding River Bonus brings Jack to a jungle river, which he has to cross using stepping stones. The stones are highlighted and you have to choose one for him to leap on. If he lands on the stone you are awarded the credits from that stone and if he makes it all the way across the river your credits are doubled. If Jack falls into the river the croc gets him and the bonus is over.

The Nippy Surf bonus takes Jack to an ocean beach where you must choose a surf board for Jack to ride. As he rides the waves the credits increase. If he rides the board to shore a bonus prize is awarded. If he falls off the bonus is over.

During the Gold Mine bonus Jack picks away at gems in the wall of a cave. After he uncovers each gem and its credit value, you are asked if you want to keep digging or leave. If you keep digging you can increase your credits, but if Jacks picking causes a cave-in you leave with only half of the credits won.

The Big Rock bonus has Jack throwing a boomerang across the desert, your credits increase until it returns to Jack.

During the Great Sandy Desert bonus you get 15 free spins with added Kangaroo scatter symbols. A wild boomerang displays a multiplier up to 10x when part of a winning combination.

The Fishing Spot bonus takes Jack to a lake with fishes from the top of the screen. You get seven spins with special fish symbols, including a wild swordfish. When you hit a winning combination Jack reels the fish in and then adds the credits to your total.

The Outback Jack Jackpot Card Feature can be won at random during any bought game. When playing this card feature, you can win one of two progressive jackpots (the top progressive starting at $900) or a consolation prize. You pick cards until you match five Jacks, which wins the top progressive; five crocodiles, which wins the minor progressive or four sharks, which wins the consolation prize.

I’ve been a faithful player for a long time. And this week at the Mystic Lodge I put in my $20 and played a 2x bet (60¢). On my second spin I got the Card feature. In all the years I have been playing this game this is the first time I ever got the random card feature. I picked a Jack symbol, then two crocs, a kangaroo (which turns all crocs to Jacks), two more crocs and then a kangaroo, which gave me six Jack cards. I won the top progressive, $903.60!!!

A customer told me someone had won the top progressive on this same machine the day before. Wow!!!
