A lot of fans in Las Vegas like their football the way they like their Philly cheese steak sandwiches – spiced up with a little something extra.

And that’s what most of the casinos and taverns will do this season – offer something a little extra to tweak football fans’ interest.

Here are just a few of the hot promotions happening around town. Be sure to check with your favorite casino for the latest football-related events.

Out at the M Resort, iMagine Rewards members have a chance to win their share of more than $150,000 in cash prizes in the casino’s free football contest. It begins Sept. 6 and concludes Jan. 2, 2011.

Open to all iMagine Rewards members, the contest includes $9,000 in weekly cash prizes with $5,000 going to first place, $2,500 to second place and $1,500 to third place.

Rewards club members can receive a free weekly entry as well as up to 10 additional entries daily by earning base slot points or rated table play. iMagine Rewards members earning 5,000 base slot points within the past 30 days of the date of their win will receive double prize winnings in free slot play.

"It’s football season and that means a lot of football contests. What makes our contest stand out amongst the competition is that it’s free and we offer entrants a new chance to win every week," said Jody Lake, senior vice president and general manager of M Resort.

In addition to the free $150,000 contest, M Resort will celebrate football every Monday night, beginning Monday, Sept. 13, with drink specials in select casino bars on property. Specials include $1 select shots with every touchdown and $2 Miller and Coors draft pints. The resort’s 32˚ Draft Bar, which offers 96 of the coldest beers on tap, will be home to a live radio broadcast with KKLZ 96.3, the world-famous Miller Girls and prize giveaways.

One of the best venues to catch all the action is Lagasse’s Stadium inside The Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip. And, as the Stadium’s namesake Emeril Lagasse likes to say, the sports book/restaurant and lounge will "kick it up a notch" this season.

With more than 100 HD TVs located throughout the space, stadium-style seating and kicked-up bar food courtesy of Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse, there is no better place in Las Vegas for a complete football experience.

This new breed of sports book and sports bar at The Palazzo is the only one of its kind on the Las Vegas Strip. Ultra fan and celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse has lowered the lights and turned up the heat to create the ultimate fan experience with plenty of kicked-up game-day bar food and drink favorites, exhilarating Stadium Girls, flat screen TVs and the comfiest seats around.

Located just steps from Las Vegas Blvd. in front of The Palazzo, this is tailgating done Vegas style.

Another terrific venue for enjoying the games is at the Las Vegas Hilton. Every football Sunday, the hotel transforms the 1,500-seat Hilton Theater into "every sports fan’s dream," according to Jay Kornegay, vice president for the Hilton’s race and sports operations.

"You can get there at kickoff with three or four friends, walk into a smoke-free environment and watch football all day," Kornegay said in a Philadelphia Inquirer article.

The theater has 11 screens, including one that’s 15-by-20 feet while the rest are 7-by-9 feet.

"No one is just betting on one game, so you can watch every game you’re interested in without having your head on a swivel," Kornegay said.

Admission to the theater is free, and food and beverages are sold, including breakfast sandwiches, $1 hot dogs and $2 beers, even hoagies and those spicy Philly cheese steak sandwiches. The Hilton adds to the festive atmosphere with free raffles for sports memorabilia and other prizes.

Just outside the theater, there are betting windows so fans don’t have to wander too far from all those high-def big screens.

A short stroll from the theater is the Hilton’s expansive SuperBook, with another couple of hundred seats and dozens of screens.

Finally, last but certainly not least, the Rockhouse Bar & Nightclub on the Las Vegas Strip (across from Caesars Palace) will host "Girls Love Football" parties for fanatical femme fatales.

Starting with the first college football game this Thursday, the Rockhouse invites guys to bring their girlfriends, and ladies not to bring their men, for a rowdy good time at Rockhouse’s "Girls Love Football" college kickoff party.

Hosted by Budweiser, Rockhouse will get the party started at 3:30 p.m. with the complete lineup of college games shown on 28 high-definition television screens throughout the bar and patio.

During game time, guests will receive two-for-one Bud Light bottles. And they didn’t neglect the ladies. Beginning at 10:30 p.m., female football lovers, and even those that aren’t, will celebrate their victory – or drown their sorrows – with drinks on the house until midnight.

In addition to the "ultra dive’s" unique atmosphere, the Rockhouse has 28 high-definition television screens showing every minute of every game. With no cover and daily beer specials, female football fans can’t go wrong.

Since its opening a few months ago, the Rockhouse has blended the ambiance of a local dive bar with the glamour of Sin City’s party scene.

The nightclub features top-notch lighting and sound with the best DJs in Las Vegas who blend upbeat rock, hip-hop and dance. With beautiful bartenders pouring drinks from the bar tops, playing in the giant bird cage and dangling from tire swings suspended from the ceiling, Rockhouse is the spot where the party never ends.
