HOLLYWOOD PARK/DEL MAR

(opens July 21)

SHEEZA BEAST: Was exiting our HTW list and was let go at 14-1 and we almost pulled this one off, she broke slow and then was caught between horses on the backstretch, she switched out into the stretch and just stormed home to be one of three heads on the line but was third in a three horse bang bang photo finish, we will keep her on the list.

AEROMON: Was outsprinted for the lead in this 25k maiden claimer but ran a winning race finishing second some five lengths clear of the rest of the 12 horses in this race, he will be a good single next time out. $$$$$

TENACIOIUS TINA: Ran big off the layoff but could not hold off the odds on HTW winner Amina, this girl can flat out run and will be hard to beat on the front end if able to clear early next time out.

SIDEPOCKET LOU: Was steadied when shut off at the start and his race was over, he did spit horses in deep stretch as he wanted to still run but it was way too late. He was claimed by the hot Morey so look for a big jock switch and a big time rebound. $$$$$

ANGA: First time starter was sent off at 54-1 in this 25k maiden claimer but put in a sneaky better than looked effort, this guy could light up the tote next time out, long shot special.

LUCKY PRIMO: What a goofy race this guy ran, he shot out of the gate and just cruised to a 1½ lead but Rosario took hold and let two horses run right by him, he took back and just sat behind the two and then went right around them and got the win.

NOT HERE: Second time starter was trying the grass and going long, she sat back and then made a three wide run at the lone speed who had a five length lead down the lane but she was gaining with every long stride at the wire finishing second by less than two lengths and she was well clear of the third place finisher. $$$$$

SCENIC BLAST: Aussie import was last and well off the rail in this 6 furlong handicap race, he came four wide into the stretch while coming very wide but was running like a steam engine down the middle of the stretch, this guy can run and if sent longer next time out dig deep and take a shot. $$$$$

LILLY FA POOTZ: In this 11/16 turf route Lilly was under a strong hold by Talamo, once let loose she wore the front runner down and was drawing away all on her own and looked like she wanted to go around again and she never did break a sweat, this girl will come back and repeat, she could be ready to run in a little stakes race.

WICKEDLY PERFECT: First time Doug O’Neill 2yo filly put in a scary effort beating the odds on Baffert first time starter Romanette, Baffert also sent out another first time starter by the name of Royal Ancestry, both of whom could come back to win in what looks to be a key that could turn out key.

The New York Giants just completed a startling three-game run through the NFC playoff jungle with a 3-0 mark ATS. By contrast, the New England Patriots enjoyed a first-round bye and home playoff wins over underdogs Denver and Baltimore.

Wynn Las Vegas sports book director Johnny Avello tried to hang on with the Patriots -3 as long as he could, but finally had to give in on Thursday morning when the culmination of Giants money over the first 11 days of action became too much.

From the time we knew who would be playing in the Super Bowl, I’ve always had a lean on the Patriots to win. As great as the Giants have been on their march to the Super Bowl, I still can’t get their bad losses out of my head.

Being in Las Vegas, it’s easy to forget just how many people are betting the Super Bowl "illegally" around the nation. A survey released Tuesday found that at least 25 million Americans will bet money on this Sunday’s Patriots-Giants NFL title game.
