For the past two years, Las Vegas casino owner Phil Ruffin has been fighting to save greyhound racing at his Kansas dog track without much success. Until now. Last week, a Kansas Senate committee approved a bill that is designed to bring slots to two tracks: Camptown Greyhound Park in Frontenac, and Ruffin’s Woodlands dog and horse track in Kansas City. The measure would raise the percentage of revenue the tracks could keep from the previous 40 percent to 58 percent. That’s what Ruffin has been arguing. He insisted the tracks could not survive on the 40 percent rate.
The Las Vegas Strip’s only bingo room is going virtual. The Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is launching a partnership this week with Buffalo Studios, the company behind the popular Facebook game Bingo Blitz.
